2005 lq9 to lt1 4l60e HELP!
Howdy folks,
Long story short, i bought a complete lq9 with a howell harness that is wired/programmed for manual or non electronic trans. I changed my mind and want to use the lt1 4l60e i had originally modded for my lt1 swap into my 86 regal before i swapped to t56. here are my questions.
1) What is the deal with the spacer for torque converter? I have a dished flexplate. Do i need the spacer or not to bolt to this GEN 2 small block trans? I know i need to file the flexplate bolt holes out to mate to the torque converter.
2)do the gen 2 and gen 3 4l60e transmissions share the same connectors? That is, if i scalp a connector for computer control off of and lt1 harness or a gen3 harness are they the same? Besides the modular bell, are the 4l60/65/70 all electronically compatible?
My plan is to score a connector for the trans control and wire up a pigtail to run to the harness since i don't want to spend more money on this swap and i have all the tools to do it. I will need the get the pcm reprogrammed, but the vortec computer should control the last generation 4l60e just the same right?
Thanks!
Mike
