tune up
So I was getting ready to do a tune up, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. And I was trying to figure out how to get to the cap and rotor. So do you seriously have to remove the water pump to do this? Any tips or shortcuts would be greatly appreciated. This is the first time I've ever done any of this to my bird. Thanks

Yep...water pump and crank pulley need to come off. Have fun with the spark plugs too, those are all a joy.

I found this walkthrough, looks pretty decent to me. Could help you out a little. Someone else with more experience with this could prob throw in some more advice.

LOL, I have never had to remove so much crap to change the cap and rotor. Man, you either love these cars or hate them to death. Luckily I love mine.  My water pump just had the RTV silicon on it, do you guys recommend using it or the gaskets?

I use ultra copper RTV and a gasket on mine. Go back after a couple driving cycles and double check your torque on the water pump bolts, I've had them loosen after a few heat cycles or use locktite ftw.
