Default wheel and tire suggestions

I'm looking for some new wheels to replace my fugly 16's. This is what I have now;

These are the wheels I'm looking at here and putting either some Potenza RE760 or Kuhmo Ecsta 275/40's. I don't have to worry about driving in the snow here as it almost never snow's and even when it does it's usually no more than a couple inches. If snow builds up on the roads here the city pretty much closes down . Anyone have any other comments or suggestions on wheels or tires?

Kumho Ecsta what? They have several different tires in the Ecsta line.

I've really been looking at the Nitto NT-05 and Toyo R1R to replace the nitto DRs I've been daily driving. Since you're like me and don't really have to worry about snow. Why not go for some good performance tires? Why lose a race because you can't hook?

bryceslu: yeah it's factory paint, violet grey metallic i believe.

Greed4Speed: Ecsta XS. The Nitto NT05 do look pretty nice too and about the same price.

Also, I have a question about the rim sizes. What exactly is offset? The rims I'm looking at have a 56 offset while some others have 38, all 17x9.5. The site says they will fit all 93-02 firebirds/cameros but another site I was looking at had the same style rims but said they are for 94-02.

offset is the distance of the mountign surface away from the centerline of the wheel, positive places the offset more towrad the face of the wheen negative more towards the "back" of the wheel.

Considered the Deep Dish Version?

Potenza RE760 is a good tire
Sumitomo HTR ZIII is also a good tire

Those are some pretty sexy wheels, I think I'm going to go with those and some Nitto NT05's. Should be a nice upgrade from my 16" Goodyear Eagle GT HR's. Thanks for all the help!

Personally I run the ZR1 style rims, but i like the slightly more traditional look, but thats jsut me. that and most people cant tell the difference between those and the oe 17s until they look at them from the back.
