There are pictures from Div 5 in Topeka this past weekend on www.egleye.com. Click on the eagle, select 2009 events, and under September 09 click on Div 5 finals. On the first page that pops up are 4 photos of me sitting on the line in the Sportsman Race of Champions final. The Vette got a 2.5 second head start, and for whatever reason, the photographer only took (or at least, posted) pictures of him moving.
His website is really weird, I haven't figured out a way to direct link or search photos on his site.

Friday, Jackpot race after 700-some cars each got their 2 time trials. Won 2 rounds, they shut down racing due to the late hour and split the pot between the 2nd round winners.
Saturday, one time trial, then represented the home track in the Sportsman class Race of Champions. 19 tracks sent their season champ in this class to run it off. I won the first 4 rounds (including a semi-final bye where I ran a 12.110 on a 12.11 dial-in). In the final, the burn-out was kind of weird, the tires slipped off the line, couldn't run the number, lost by 0.0175 seconds.
Sunday, no time trials, first round of Sportsman at 8 a.m., I'm paired with a mid-13-second 4th gen 'Bird. Treed him off the line but gave back the stripe by 0.0047 seconds - I apparently judged the stripe by his front tire but the front GFX is what broke the beam. First time I've gone out in the first round in 6 Division 5 Finals. The 'Bird, of course, loses in the 2nd round.

Actually, I'm a native Husker. South central part of the state. Arapahoe, at the intersection of US 6 & 34 and US 283. Lived in the same house from the time I was brought home from the hospital until I joined the Army in August after graduating from high school.
I was a "farm kid", 2 miles from town. Lived closer to the grocery store then than we do now, but now I'm a "city slicker" - go figure.

My daughter took this with her digital camera the Friday before the pics above were taken.

That is the "Club Clash" series, this run is against the owner of the business that sponsors the series. I happened to win that night, and finished the season in 2nd place.

The track awards banquet was held on November 20th. I came home with these (except the china cabinet - I just borrowed that to hang the jacket on):
The two big ones said:
And,
The poster:
For the year (Warning: This is borderline obscene):
A few of those were won with the Camaro, but the bulk was with the '57. It seems to be highly recognized at the track.

Well, the 396 spun the #8 rod bearing, and the TH400 bell housing is cracked.
So, we're done for the 2010 racing season. The LQ4/4L80E will be prepped for installation, but it probably won't be ready to go before next spring at the earliest.
