can you pull the bin from the old ecm?

they are checksummed -- so if the bin is corrupt, it should warn you when you try to download it from the ecm..

I will try to pull the bin. when we datalogged it, it would record data for 5-10 sec then loose connection for 5-10 sec over and over again. When it lost connection the service asr/asr off lights would come on. Also we think his car is stuck in "limp home mode" but its not throwing any codes, I'm confused, any ideas?

might want to double-check that ground connection to the ecm, make sure its tight/clean and the wire isnt damaged

i know on the fbody, the aldl ground tees into the fuel pump relay ground wire, which is the same wire as the pcm block ground.. i bet it's the same on the vette..

all you need for datalogging to work is keyswitched power, constant power, ground, and that one data wire.. nothing else matters

i just ran into an ecm that was fried, but apparently its very very rare, and it was due to miswiring

A repository .bin files can be found here.. Index of /gearhead-efi/bin scroll down and click PCM part number 16181330 and there are two Y body A4 .bins there or scroll to 16188051 and click, there are about 13 .bins there saw F &,B .bins but did not view all to see if a Y was there. You will have to download and open each w/tunercat to view correct vehicle info.
