Default What data logging software can read knock, 96 OBDII

I've done all the tuning myself. Been using Innovative Motorsports LM-2 along with the Jet DST.

The A/F ratios are somewhat in but the LM-2, from what I've seen, cant read knock counts or knock retard. And I cant seem to find any product from Innovative that can. Any suggestions?

What I've done so far is just tune, then drive and feel, and repeat a hundred times. Its driving great but I know its not near perfect and I want to get the most ponies as I can and better the fuel milage.

Thanks 95 Firehawk. Well if anyone still has any suggestions I'd like to hear them. It doesnt have to be a product from Innovative. Just anything that can show me knock counts or knock retard, period. This is the only thing keeping me from getting the tune in just right.

Jc, what year engine and year PCM are you running. Here's the problem, scanners pull sensor data that is referred to as a 'PID' (Parameter ID) in the PCM software. There is an industry standardized set of OBD2 PIDs defined by 'SAE J1979' that it seems almost all lower cost scanner manufactures adhere to. Problem is Knock Count and Knock Retard are NOT in the SAE standard. They are manufacture specific, sometimes by model and year. The more expensive line of scanners or software may contain these vehicle specific PIDs. You just have to carefully read the technical specifications. The Aerosforce Interceptot PTX01 is an example at $250.00

Jc, just some more to confuse things, If you have an Android software/bluetooth enabled phone there is a thread on the Pontiac GP "Android-Aeroforce" forum Android = Aeroforce - Page 20 (20 pages) I have been reading . It's about adding Knock and Retard PID's to the $4.95 "Torque OBD2 Pro" Android app out on Google Play. If I had an OBD2 F-Body I would be tempted order it plus an ELM 327 Bluetooth OBD2 adapter from ebay to try it out. Adapters start at about $20.00. So for $25 you have a portable OBD2 scanner on you cell phone for any OBD2 car even if it does not do knock. The solved the PID problem for the Pontiac GP but again the '96-97 LT1's are a one off .

Thank you very much bobdec. Sorry it took me so long. Havent been on in a while. Its a 96 with the factory 96 computer. The Android app and bluetooth adapter sounds amazing. I'm going to look into it now. Also the Aerosforce Interceptot PTX01 is very much worth checking out. I have no problem spending $250. If it gets me what I need its worth every penny. Thanks again

Just downloaded the Torque OBDII Pro app and bought the ELM 327 on Amazon for $21 shipping included. Also on the Torque app you can download the Knock Detector app that ties in to the Torque app for free. When the ELM 327 comes in the mail I'll let you guys know if it works.
