1. As stated above.....if it has '327' on the block.....it's a LT1.

2. Get headers that will fit YOUR CAR. If they fit a LT1 F-body, it doesn't matter whether the engine has aluminum or iron heads, the headers will fit. Same engine, ect.

Man all I know is all the sub components (i.e. distributor, cooling system, etc.) bolt onto this engine. It has to be an lt1. The head difference is one of the few differences among them. so if half of them came with iron heads, they all probably came with the same head. chevy's a pretty universal supplier. so any of those few select cars that have iron heads should have interchangable headers. i removed my ac system. so clearance isnt a problem. i need a header that will bolt on to this bitch so i can drive it. that's all i have left.

I have 2 different sets of "lt1 headers" neither fit it. the only exhaust that i have that fits it is the stock header manifolds. it HAS TO BE an lt1 or all the subcomponents wouldnt fit..... they are NOT the same. i guarantee you if you go find a 94-96 chevy impala ss, i will sent you a pair of hooker headers or pacesetter headers with cutouts that WILL fit a 93-97 f body, and they WONT bolt into your heads. i guarantee it. i know you're very knowledgable about these cars, but they will not fit.

And I guarantee that you are wrong.

They will bolt to the engine if it's on a stand.....but they won't fit into the engine bay.

Been there.....done that.

I'm out! Someone else, try to help this guy.....

Post some pictures of these headers that you have to show us how they won't bolt up.

AS Kw said, All lt1 heads have the same D shaped exhaust ports and the same bolt pattern for exhaust manifolds.

It does not matter if head is aluminum or cast iron. The exhaust ports and bolts are the same.

What does matter is, there is no way in hell that you ae going to make a set of B-body headers fit your F-body. You need a set of F-body 4th gen LT1 headers, and thats the story.

Any sbc header will bolt up to the head when sitting in an engine stand, even headers with different shaped exhaust ports, outside the engine compartment. BUT if you want the header to fit the car, the F-body LT! 4th gen header is your only choice for long tubes.

If you wanted to go to shorty headers then you could probably find a sbc header to fit your car. But why would you want to?
