Default 97 Z28 PCM swap, need to know which to use

I am looking to swap the stock PCM in the 97 Z28 for another year, problem is that I need to have it dyno tuned and no shops where I'm at have LT1 Edit and the cabling for the stock PCM, also Ed Wright did the original tune before the first engine blew so the PCM needs to be taken out anyway. I just need to know which one to put in as my google research has been all over the place. Car is a 350 bored and stroked to 383, vortech supercharger, borla exhaust and a ton of other work has been done to the engine/fuel/electric to support 12psi of boost.

I think I need a 95 PCM and if so is it just a simple PCM swap?

Sounds like you want to " Convert the 97 OBD2 PCM to a '95 OBD1 PCM" You need an ODB1 PCM part number 16188051 and an '95 OBD1 knock sensor . Whenever you swap back to the OBD2 for Emission testing, etc you will have to swap the OBD2 KS back in. There is a resistor mod to the OBD1 PCM that allows using the OBD2 KS, that way you can swap PCMs back and forth w/o needing to swap KS each time. Search on ' OBD2 to OBD1 conversion ' you will get quite a few hits.

I bought the 95 PCM but he is not able to flash my 97's VIN onto it, is that normal? I provided him two other 97 Camaro VIN's and those did not take either, yet he was able to flash a different 95 Camaro VIN onto it.

I am not familiar w/LT1 Edit. Could be it checks digit 10 (model year) of the vin to authenticate S/W code compatibility. Maybe someone else can chime in.. Just a guess here.. the '97 digit 10 = 'V' the '95 is an 'S' , you could see if the putting an 'S' in digit 10 works.
