Default URGENT!!! After pacesetter LT install. Rough

Ok so I put pacesetter LT's in a week or so ago for my 94 Lt1, took out my AIR and my EGR stuff as well.

The problem Im having is it runs pretty rough, like when I am driving down the street and give enough gas just to maintain speed, it feels like its skipping or wanting to bog down on me, but I give it little more gas and it does fine. Also when I punch into it, still works fine. It has that skipping sound in the engine when it sits at idle as well.

Any ideas what this could be? Will a tune of the pcm get rid of that? Im a little worried because I feel like this could be a big problem or lead into one.

Thanks,
Brett

I always like to check stuff that was recently changed first. In your case I would look/listen for an exhaust leak which could cause a false lean reading making your engine run rich. If you have a scanner check your long term trims see if the computer is adding alot of fuel. Good luck. Oh also check for vacumn leaks where u plugged the egr.

Well The EGR port on the header itself has nothing on it, maybe that is whats causing the problem. I have a block off plate for it but its tight as hell trying to get in there and do it, plus the original bolt broke so I dont have one and am not sure the size of it. I placed it on there with some RTV sealant and manage to wrap some of that high temp duct tape to it for a quick fix for now.

the egr stuff has plates on them as well. Could it be a bad oxygen sensor?

It sounds like there are leaks coming from where the header connects to the head itself but I dont understand because I used copper gaskets and the bolts are as tight as they can get. Do the holes the original manifolds were in on the far right and left side need to be bolted back in?

Header bolts should not be as tight as possible, you could potentially strip them out, and if you don't tighten them to the proper torque rating the gaskets will leak

Leaking headers can cause bad idle. Cant think of the name but i have a flexible style header gasket steal. Exhaust leak will mess up O2 sensors. Could melt wire on header aswell. And broken bolts are a real messy deal. Cant seal it good.

So you can actually fit a torque wrench on your bolts?

So you would suggest I loosen them just a little bit?

I've never tried and I'm sure you can't on some, I'm just saying you don't turn them in till they won't budge anymore
