Default EGR delete help. One problem

Ok so I took off the stainless hose running to the headers, that was easy. On the valve right beside that hose, I took off the passenger side nut. But the driver side is a B****! I cant seem to get a wrench around it at all, like it keeps slipping off and its starting to strip. I have already sprayed a lot of PB on it and nothing seems to work.

I think this is why my car is skipping because of the vacuum leak it is causing.

Any help will be greatly appreciated as to how to get this thing off.

If the nut is stripping, you might want to get strip proof socket to remove that one. Once you get it off, replace the nut.

If that doesn't work, you might want to consider removing the intake manifold. Its a lot of work, but at least you can see both EGR components and remove them safely.

Good Luck!

take a hacksaw and chop an old 1/2" box end wrench in half that is the only way I was able to remove the egr and then install block off plates. Have to balance like superman on engine compartment to get both hands to reach around left side working from right side. The header to intake is workable but the egr nearest the center of the intake takes the above and some patients. Use a new gasket and some high temp silicone or form a gasket on the egr plates and let them cure for awhile before starting to check the results.

Well I finally got it using a box end wrench. I had one of the rachet wrenches and the head on it was too big causing it to slip off everytime I turned it. I finally got it but I am still having some other problem. Not sure what it is but it causes me to idle rough and when I am driving down the road and give enough gas just to maintain speed it starts skipping and acts like it wants to bog down. Keep in mind this is after a header install, AIR/EGR delete. Plugs and wires are new also, maybe one of the wires is roasted? No clue...

No not yet. When I put the headers in the EGR hose would not reach the headers so I just left it until I could take the EGR off, took it off, still having the same problem.

I am assuming this is a '94-95 F-Body, and you have emission headers...is that correct ? And you have successively plugged and sealed all five holes 1- hole on header exhaust tube to intake, 2- Exhaust tube hole on intake, 3- EGR hole on intake and 4 & 5 AIR pipe holes on headers. You also added new plugs and wires. How did you extend the O2 connectors (extensions, solder or butt splices) ? Hope you did not splice O2 pigtail at the O2 side.
My guess is a burnt, loose, defective or damaged plug wire, bad plug, plug wire crossed. burnt or loose O2 wire or connection, blow fuse to O2 heaters (also controls the fan).
EGR tuning on a '94-95 gets rid of EGR DTC and corrects 2* timing advance when cruising. It's not causing your problems.

Yes I have the egr headers. I got extensions for the 02's. I used block off plates for everything and metal plugs that twist on the air tubes. It may be a roasted wire. Other than that I have no idea what it could be.I put a casing around the wire and the casing melted to the header but the wire still looks ok. Ill change it. If that's not it I have no idea
