-suddenly dies, usually after engine is hot and most of the time will not start for several hours. What happens is over time for being exposed to high heat from being mounted right to the head. You can try using some sort of spacers to get it further away from engine.
Or when it dies try putting a bag of ice on it for about 5mins or so, it the ICM is bad it should fire right up.
But how many people actually carry around a little bag of ice with them.

Check to make sure you have good voltage to the PCM before you condemm it, check connections.
