No spark at all, missfires, etc.
Make sure it has a good ground and is cooled correctly
Autozone can test them, to a point.

Here's a few symtoms,

-car just won't start.

-suddenly dies, usually after engine is hot and most of the time will not start for several hours. What happens is over time for being exposed to high heat from being mounted right to the head. You can try using some sort of spacers to get it further away from engine.
Or when it dies try putting a bag of ice on it for about 5mins or so, it the ICM is bad it should fire right up.
But how many people actually carry around a little bag of ice with them.

Just a couple of ideas to think of

Check to make sure you have good voltage to the PCM before you condemm it, check connections.

So you got a GOOD deal on a used LT1, there is no such thing as a good deal, dork!

When its completely bad, your car will not start period. Well mine didnt, and I had to have to it flat bedded home but mine kinda died in a weird way.

Oh and only replace it with a GM one, no autozone specials.
