ok as far as lining things up I believe thats my problem..I didnt mark anything just pulled it out and replaced the whole opti spark.
Why would I be getting such a low spark from the opti and a strong spark from the coil...is this a symptom of installing the opti wrong..or do I have other problems?

Even indexed incorrectly, it should not affect the strength of the spark, IMO. Of course, it will never run (or run right) without it being indexed correctly, so, I would start there and see what happens next.

Yes Shoebox improperly indexed can cause it to be weak. I dont remember which way but one spot of lines up the rotor right in between the terminals so the spark jumps to one, both, or not at all.

Yeah, I guess it depends on how badly it is off. That might make sense.

Its all I could come up with. I pulled multiple opti's apart. There was obvious split carbon tracking and even melting into the plastic between terminals.
