Lt1 vette, 1st paint job

I used Dupli colors Jet Black paint, primer, and Gloss clear. I spent 500.00 all together on everything. Sanding blocks, paper, and gun. I didn't go for a high gloss finish, because I was scared of the impurities that there would likely be seen due to this being my first paint job on a car. Please go easy on me, what do y'all think ? 3 coats primer, 3 coats base, 3 coats of clear.
Everywhere I go , I get compliments on it. I'm very proud of it and how it turned out. Again, my FIRST paint job.

Looks good from a distance. How about some close up shots. If you avoided runs & sags with the clear coat, I would lightly sand the clear and go for the gloss clear coat. Get that mirror like shine your corvette deserves.

I'll get some close ups when I get home, (Just got on the truck heading to CA)
It doesn't have any runs or sags up close either.
If I do wet sand it with 2,000 grit and buff/polish it, will it shine like high gloss?

It will shine some, but flat or satin clear is made different than gloss clear. They just don't shine like the gloss does.

If your worried about the high price of automotive paint, go to the following link to get your clear. They sell quality paint at decent prices.
www.thecoatingstore.com

A 1 & 1/4 gallon kit of their standard clear is $89.96 + $16.99 shipping. Their top of the line clear in a 1 & 1/2 gal kit is $ 119.97 + $19.99 shipping.
