I read the Sticky on the Intake Manifold, and am confused on which sealant you used.
When I search for Permatex Sensor-Safe Silicone Sealant (SSSS), a couple different ones come up with similar descriptions, and I want to use the exact one you reccommend.
Would you happen to remember the Permatex Part # of the one you used ?
Permatex black 82180. Dont worry about it being "sensor safe" since its only going to seal the front and rear walls. Thick bead front and back, set the intake down, torque it, and let it sit for 24 hours. DO NOT START IT before then
If you dont want to wait around for stuff to cure, etc., you can use "The RIght Stuff". Comes in a pressured can with applicator tip that works awesome and forms a seal to keep it ready for next use - easy to pull the plug of silicone out.
This stuff works really good. Once I was told about it, I never use the regular again. YMMV, but intakes usually need pryed off the block even after quite a while. Always had trouble with the regular stuff.
WOrks great on rear ends too. Don't even need to wait for it to dry, just throw the grease in there and roll out. It's amazing.
