Hello ,
I have an impala ss and she has an issue that makes me confused, everything is probably OK except one, that i didnt know how to fix it.
I have a couple of photos that may fix the problem, first photo when the gear on "N" , the second one is on "R" and it keeps getting down tell it die or it jumps up to 1K RPM and sometimes after I give it full throttle starts acting very weird "the RPM jumps up and down then dies",when it gets too low i hit the gas pedal it dies immediately even when it jumps up , hope everyone help, and hope you all understand me well because my English isn't that good.THANKS ??
That's your problem. The coolant temp sensor for pcm is located on water pump. It gives pcm coolant temp information so pcm can command the proper air/fuel ratio. If this reading is wrong, fueling will be wrong. That's why car is stalling.
You need to put car on an obd 2 scanner that does real time sensor data. It will show the coolant temp that pcm is seeing. Compare it to coolant temp on gauge. You are probably getting a lean fueling condition that causes car to stall.
the sensor reads water temp for the PCM. The fact the car is not overheating means the cooling system is wrking well...just the sensor, or wiring, is sending wrong info to PCM
It is possible that your 1 year old sensor went bad. Try and get a AC Delco one if you can and confirm your wiring to it is good
Thank you , actually i found the wiring to the sensor connector is too bad , it has a small cut , both wires has a cut , and I'll fix it and see what well happen. That helped alot , Thank you again ?
