Default LS1 to 700R4

I have a 69 Camaro with a 350 small block and I'm thinking of converting to an LS1 or LS2. Would an LS motor bolt up to a 700R4?

You will need some sort of adapter as the bell housing patterns are different on a gen 1 than a gen 3 and you'll also need a proper flexplate. You'll also need a tv and kickdown cable, but that shouldn't be too hard to do. I've never looked into the conversion, so I can't offer you any part #s or products.

you will need a specific flexplate for it. there will one bolt that will not line up (not sure which one). then go to bowtieoverdrives.com and look at there tv cable bracket kit that works for this swap. then get a tune for a manual which will take the tranny out of the equasion.

Sounds like it would be easier to use the transmission that was made for that application, being that everything is computerized.

(P/N 712500A) | Advance Adapters LS adapters for several different types of transmissions, and have the computer tuned to think it has a manual trans. Should be a simple check box, x=4L60E enabled, and no X=4L60E disabled, in the PCM. Software to tune the LS/vortec motors I think is 799.00.
