LT1 vs gto and g37

Alright I haven't posted any races for awhile so here we go. About a month ago me and my buddy in his 04 gto ran them. He has just cai and is a M6 so I thought he'd absolutey destroy me. Well we went from a dig to about 100 and I had a car on him. We went from a 15 or so and he was back by half a car. He was runnin premium fuel though so he didn't think it was runnin right.

Then today I had a couple young guys in a G37 try to bully me. From a dig to only about 60 he was just barely behind. Then from a roll it was about a car.. Makes me happy

LT1s and LS1 both benefit from premium fuel. On cheaper gas you run the risk of having the pcm pull timing making you slower.

What mods do you have?

Yep its slow.

Not much; CAI and free mods, and the helpful 3:23s. I just gave it a fresh tune up that day. All new plugs, wires, and fuel filter. They are nice though..

I thought that our cars called for premium, which I would think that ls1 fbodies would too and also the gto's. It sounds like your friend was making up an excuse as to why you beat him.

Nah the 04 was right in lines with the Lt1, with the ls usually winning. 05-06 were 98-02 F-Body territory.

That is premium on the east coast. They only need 91 premium from the factory so 93 is fine.

An LS1 f-body should beat an LS1 GTO stock for stock they are the same power just the GTO is heavier, now the LS2 is different.

A LS1 GTO should be able to beat 95% of the stock LT1 cars, when both were new.

LS1 GTO vs LS1 F-Body for the most part is a driver's race. There is a weight penalty for the GTO but the GTO makes that up in gearing. M6 only cars, tranny gearing makes it like a 3.90 geared F-Body except 4th of course. A4 LS1 GTO's were dogs because of the torque management that was programmed in.
