Default help: 95 f body lt1 into 95k1500?

I am looking to put the lt1 from my 95 formula firebird into my 95 k1500 and would like to know if anyone here has done this swap or knows of anyone that has because I could use some help. I know they're both obd1 and both have the 4l60e but I've heard all sorts of things like frames and cross members having to be notched and steering columns moved and whatnot to fit the accessories on the f body lt1; anyone? Also: Will the computer just swap out at the plugs and what of the wiring? Will the lt1 work with the gauge pod wiring in the truck? Will I need to get higher pressure fuel lines or can the lower pressure tbi lines take the 40 psi required for the lt1? Any help would be great

You might want to try LT1 Swap the site is dedicated to swaping the lt1 into other cars. We had a member recently who was working on a lt1 swap into a little older truck. He was having a tough time getting everything right.

Thanks for the quick response, there's some useful info there. I found this pic of a custom ac bracket made so the f body lt1 can fit in a k1500 without notching the frame. Will this throw off the balance of the engine? That may be a dumb question but I have not a clue about engine balancing. Also I've heard that a corvette bracket might work. Know anything about this?

No a different bracket on the outside won't throw off the engine balance. The balance that is important is the internal rotating assembly balance.

Since the corvette bracket puts several accessories on the other side of the engine, it might be worth looking into, but if lt1 swap suggests the custom bracket, I would think there's a reason they do.
