Please tell me of an online Spicer vendor that you, personally, have had success with.

I have Spicer part numbers and simply want someone who can sell me the items online without substituting their own house brand and without sending me a different part and telling me "it's the same size..."

What I need are qty 4 Spicer 5-447X and qty 4 3-70-48X.

I have 3.8l V6 engine. The radiator fans have stopped working. Consistantly the fans wont go on. However sometimes when the car is started the fans will actually woke like they are supposed to. I have a new thermostat so that is ok. Basically from start running cold I turn the AC on max to see if the fans go on. And though must of the time they dont, sometimes they will go on and then the fans will operate normally, even if the car is shut off and turned back on again (The problem occurs if I let the car sit for a few hours...then it takes me hours to get it running by fooling around with it). SO I checked the realys, they are OK. The fan motors work when connected directly to the battery so fans are ok. The C100 harness wires (coming from the PCM) have positve power going to the relays SO that wiring is ok and the relays all have power going to them so again those wires are ok. If I jump the connectors on the relays, then the fans go on so I have ruled out the wires between the fans and relay. Interesting enough, When the fans dont have power or when they should be off, the power leads from the c100 harness have positve power supply. The times that the fans work, these leads are sending a ground signal. ANy clues on the next step to solve this problem. Does this smell like a PCM problem? I know I could hook up a switch to the fans but I would like the system to work the way it is supposed to.

I was wanting to put set of C5-R valve covers on a LS3 will they fit the L92 heads.I have not been able to find a good photo of what they look like.

I joined the ranks today. I have a 95 z28 I bought in 95 Its an automatic and basically stock. Iam an ol hotrodder from long ago and enjoy reading posts about everyones rides and tech tips. I found this forum a while back searching for parts.

I'm about to purchase a 97 trans am cars $1200 and dont want to spend more than $6000. Cars in good shape but the main bearings bad. It will be strictly a race car. My goal is to reach the 11's but my family and I dont have the experience to work on a LT1, and the computers and such that are involved. I plan on putting a carb. small block chevy motor in it. The car will have nitrous but dont plan to use it much. SO i want the car to run 11's without any additives. Does anyone have any opinions on this know of a motor for my goal or have any other ideas?

is the inside of the LT1 gas tank metal and unlined-to prevent rust?

I am kind of new to this forum stuff so bear with me, I got into this forum stuff because of the LTXShootout and it's pretty slick how you can talk to a lot of people in a lot of places about the same subject like this. And the best part was getting to meet all of those people at the event. Now this other guy is putting on a similar event and not getting much responce. I was wondering if it;s the event or the guy people are shying away from. I am not one to talk trash about somebody but I know he has been banned from LS1Tech. I just want to go to another event and have some fun between now and the next LTXShootout. If anybody has any input on the subject please let me know.

So I finally got a few races the other day.

Well the story begins with me headed to my buddys house for a party. We picked up a HUGE bottle of Patron and we were gonna make margaritas.:D
Well on the way to his house I roll up next to a brand new S197 GT. I see the paper plates and get all tingly inside.
So I roll up next to him and just kinda hang out. Then he revs at me so I open the cutout and follow suit. I give him the hit, and from 3rd and like 40, I just kinda play with and hang out next to him, and he keeps glancing over at me and then I hit about 4500 rpm and decide Im giving him too much false hope so I hit it, and JUST WALK AWAY from him.:dontknow:

We kinda play around a few more times and he even tries to do a semi fly by, by gettin behind me and punching it but no beans. I pull him.

Then he pulls up to the light and asks me whats done to it and I tell him its stock:devil:, he goes oh really, I just have an intake.

Then I see he has 2 toddlers in the car and it just pisses me off so I take off.

Then the night takes a turn for the race.
Party ensues and we run out of margarita mix and Im the only one that hadnt had any so I take off to walmart. A buddy rides with me who hasnt ridden in the car since the cam and I pull out onto the highway(55mph limit) and punch it, lots of wheelspin and a couple gear changes later.... I MAY have been speeding a little.:roflmao:

I get pulled over but I was so far gone by the time he hit the road he didnt radar me he just heard me.

Get to the store get the stuff and head home.

A cop is following me in the parking lot, follows me leaving and the second I hit the road

Next morning I wake up to head to work.
I come under the bridge to hit the access road and then the highway, well the cars runnign great and I come onto the acess road and I just couldnt resist....RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH...Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee r...RAHHHHHHH

A police man pulls me over, apparently he was sitting on the other side of the intersection when I got a little tail happy, but once again I was gone by the time he hit the road so no radar.

Oh and I need to check out the ticket cause im pretty sure he pulled me over out of his jurisdiction.

Then heading to see my advisor I got a rematch with a boosted tC, I made him look silly this time, haha.
Oh and I got a parkign ticket on campus.:mad:

The guy I purchased my car from said he bought a aftermarket throttle-body from Jegs. What I'm wondering is if he bought an aftermarket MAF sensor to go along with it.. Can you use the stock MAF sensor with an aftermarket throttle body?

(I should add that this vehicle has a dry nitrous setup also.)

i want to find some ceramic coated mid length headers for my 1996 firebird forumla. i looked at pacesetter and they want $670. i dont want to pay over 400, any ideas? i know the black painted ones are much cheaper.

I was on my way home from the grocery store, and I had to drive down the road where all car enthusiasts gather on the weekends (didn't feel like going there tonight), so there were all kinds of nice cars driving around, and once I got on the highway a pre-99 white Cobra with two black stripes pulls up next to me and guns it. I step on it immediately and begin to go by him pretty quickly.. After I was about 2 car lengths ahead I shut off and he flew past me.. He definitely had exhaust work done, sounded like a x-pipe..

Hey all, another new guy to the site. New here but been a member for a while on some of the other f-body/ls1 sites. The rides have been an 87' Trans-am with a 305 TPI and a 5-speed (RIP), and currently own an 89' GTA, that i may be parting with soon, and the 2002 CETA. Right now I'm trying to think between a 400sbc(2 bolt or 4 bolt) or an LT1? any input? Looking to get high 400 to low 500 Hp and torque out of either and im looking put a 700r4 tranny behind one of them with 10bolt 8.5 rear.

Now Im no expert at building engines so excuse any ignorance please.

I have been looking into buying just a new block and building it from there everything thing new. But buying either of these engines new are like $2,500++

I have came across a few on craigslist for pretty cheap. Even seen two LT1's for $750 I passed on them and a 400sbc for $400.

Does miles on the engine play a big factor? Like should I even consider buying something that has 150k or so miles on it already or does it matter. Roughly how much would it cost to completely have the engine machined?

I plan on keeping AC and not sure if I want to stay fuel injected or not.

Also any tips on buying any of these engines if I get one off craigslist? I dont want to go get one and take it to an machine shop to find out its no good.

so a buddy of mine has a fox body... with just a few mods done... headers, flows, and a cold air intake and we raced tonight from zero to 100 leaving at a light and he took me by a car length maybe two... and he's run a low of 14.2 but usually mid 14's... something has got to be wrong with my car!
