Default Will a touchscreen DVD/Navi receiver fit?

So I was at a local electronics store and they had a really slick looking DVD touch screen receiver, AND it was illuminated in Red and had a red themed menu and what not and I thought it would be a great fit in the Trans Am (its a 97 monsoon car btw)

The stereo was on sale for 229, its a Pioneer P2300dvd

Pioneer AVH-P2300DVD DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com

Will it fit? is it anygood?

I really liked the look of it, and think it would match.

What I would like is for the receiver to have bluetooth (which will connect with my phone and allow me to use the stereo system as a phone if I get a call), work with my stock steering wheel buttons, have navigation (real GPS not the cell tower triangulation kind)

Any ideas? (keep in mind I dont know jack about stereos)

Thanks a bunch guys

Does not have bluetooth, it is bluetooth ready with an addon that you need to buy. Also GPS is an addon. Good looking product and probably a great unit, just have some of those things to think about.

yea I realize the stuff is an add on, which I think is nice, since I can relocate them to somewhere other than under the dash

I really like the look of the interface and buttons on the head unit, I really think it matches the T/A's interior theme

I am just saying that if you are considering getting those addons, factor in the cost and maybe search for a unit that would cost the same or less. If it is still cheaper to go with this one or you like it cool, but I have found ones with the stuff built in to be still a good price.

possible, but most of the all-in-ones lean heavily toward apple stuff, also I just saw that you can add an XM radio antenna to it, that would be awesome.

I like this one because I can add as I go, not just plunk down all my money at once.

I just bought a 96 TA with a DUAL 7" pop up screen with bluetooth, Nav, DVD, etc. Works great. Looks good.

Double D mods will make you a bezel to fit your car go to Double D Mods. Good luck!

That pioneer is a double DIN head unit. The largest radio that will fit in a fire bird without modifying anything is a single DIN, maybe a 1.5. You will have to cut and or re-form some of the factory radio bezel for a double din, but it will fit. Pioneer also makes single din head units that have similar theme-ing / color options (red).

I just picked this up to install a touchscreen unit into my 95 Trans Am

Pontiac Firebird Trans am 1993-2002 Custom Navigation Radio Frame | eBay

It matches the interior perfect.

In my eyes it looks great! Fantastic DVD player. I wish I would have one... it doesn't need a touchscreen though I would be happy with a normal one as well. The suggestions to check ebay sounds reasonable to me, I think I will do this in the future and check the site regularly.

I have a pioneer nav in my 94 ta, all I had to do was cut some of the plastic behind the radio to make it fit. You will have to either buy or make a trim piece for it though. But it should work, I'll post pics when I get back in town
