New exhaust.. any suggestions?

I am lookin at gettin rid of my stock exhaust for something that is going to give me that deep mean american muscle car sound but im not sure what to get. I was going to get an exhaust with a flowmaster muffler b/c my friends firebird has it and it sounds pretty good but now im not so sure cause i was readin up on it here and got the impression it was pretty much the worst one to get hahaha so i was curious as to what anyone might suggest i get. I have a 97 lt4 camaro SS.

Folks keep in mind he has to pass emmisions. sniffer test to. So gutted cat is out of the question. Blake what is your budget?

Im tryin to keep it under $400 the place that was gonna do it at was gonna do my exhaust with the flowmaster muffler for around $300 plus tax but im willing to pay a little more for a better sound and more power!!

hmmm well if you get a chance you should send me that clip of how it sounds. is there a place where i can go so that i can listen to different systems in actions so i can compare sounds and see what i like?

There's my sound clip for my Magnaflow cat-back. It's a little raspy when you're just revving it, but whenever you're just cruising down the road at full throttle, boy does it sound good :D
