96 9C1 No Dash Lights

Hi guys, first post FTW.
Well I bought a 96 9C1 last week and I can't for the life of me figure out why the dash lights wont work. They worked when I first got the car but I pulled out the crappy wiring and alarm, and a jumper wire from the headlight switch to the dimmer which was the "fix" for the dash light problem. I dont want to have that jumper on there. I want to fix the real problem. The fuses, relays and overall wiring looks good, and I swaped out the headlight switch and dimmer with a junkyard one and it dident fix it. It has the button that turns the digital dash off (which is only on the 9c1's I belive), does that have anything to do with it? Any help is appriciated.

when they wire up police lights, they tap into many wires. and often the wrong wires. Or, even if they do get the right one, alot of times pulling them screws something else up. I bet the guys at Impalassforum.com know how to fix this. ;)

First check the button that turns the digital dash off , remove it and

make a jumper wire and see.
