I have a RED BMR Fabrication LT-1 K-member with factory steering rack mount for sale. I will be placing it on E-bay shortly, but wanted to offer it here first. It was in the car for about 5 months and about 800 miles, including 6 passes at the strip. I am going with a manual rack and will be getting a new k-member. Weight is 25.6 lbs with my bathroom scale, and I can assure you, a fair amount lighter than stock. The powdercoat has some scratches and knicks from installing and removing, and I didn't wipe my paw prints off before the photo. You will want to get a Prothane engine mount for the drivers side. (Passengers side is incorporated into the unit, as you can see in the picture). BMR sells it new for $519.95 + shipping (for a red one). I am asking $400 + shipping. I would prefer a local pickup, but will ship for cost. Let me know if you are interested.

How well did you like that k-member?

I liked the k-member, but the car it was in will eventually be run at Sebring (road course) and the road race folks reccommend using the factory unit. I was going to keep it for my z28 I'm building for the strip, but need one with manual mounts. The BMR unit is fairly light, easier to install, and gave awesome access to the lower part of the engine. (plugs/headers/oil pan/etc.) If you have a primarily street/strip car it is great. If you want to run a road course with 315 tires all around, and big brakes, keep the stocker. It was very streetable, just a little noisier due to the poly mounts.

The first time? I can't quantify that, since the car was down several weeks for alot of work. I have done the job 3 times now and could probably do it in 6 hours or less. I turn wrenches for a living (on planes), and work much slower at home on my own stuff, especially since I have a kegorator. Ther are some shortcuts to the job, but it all depends. If doing a k-member only change, you can leave the struts and upper arms in, and wire the brakes up out of the way on the springs. But it is hard to install the lower arms once the member is in. Last time I installed the arms in the k-member befor installing it, but that made the k-member install more difficult.

Sorry, I haven't been on the site in a few days. I was just up that way for work. I have someone locally who contacted me about the k-member for cash, but if it doesn't work out I'll let you know. I should know by the end of this weekend.
