Hey guys! Newbie here. I live in North GA and need a little help. I have a 95 T/A I have been building a motor for since July 06 and am about 95% complete from running. I bored it out 60 over it's got a HUGE .578 Comp Cam. 202 Valves 3200 Stall and many extras. I just need someone to get me the last 5%. Tons of little setbacks like wrong dial pin in the cam, wrong timing cover continues setting completion back.
Right now the Intake is off along with the Timing Cover. I got all the right parts now and I just need someone who can put it all together for me. I am willing to pay someone but don't know who to trust. I don't wont all the hourly quotes I have been getting. I am concerned that they will experience all the setbacks I have and it will end up costing me $2K instead of the $500-600 that I would think it should cost. Any help out there for a Newbie???

Sorry- forgot to add that I live in Flowery Branch. Right between Buford and Gainesville. Nashville seems a bit far. I need the car running though - was hoping to find someone a little closer so I could kinda watch over the finishing touches. I have done almost all this in some way and still wanna be close to the finishing touches. I really appreciate the suggestion and hope to see you at Commerce since I read in one of the threads that you go there often!

My bad. I thought you had. Guess I didn't read it right. Love the T/A though - lots of unique work done. Think Nashville is too far? This should only be a 1/2 to full day job. Don't know if anyone would be willing to travel (or transport) that far for such a small amount of work?

Cool man. Hamilton Mill about 10 minutes away from me! Great to hear about Local F-body guys who love it enough to talk about it here. Dropping off supplies for a Work(Job) Crew or Hobby (Cars) Crew???

I'll snap some tommorrow in the light! Trans Am still in Garage waiting for help but just added some new stripes to see how they would look. Camaro is done for a while I think, besides interior. Flat Black with 69 Emblems. Inspired by the Year One 69 on Forza Showdown. Had a different plan but this is growing on me daily (and not hurting the budget either). Oughta get together next time your that close or we can meet up at Commerce sometime with my crew!

Sounds cool.Hell,a bunch of the local club went there Friday. If you were up there you probably saw them.I've never run my WS6 at Commerce or any track, but I hear everyone saying it's pretty slippery there.I haven't been to Commerce in about 5 years or maybe more.I guess I need to try and start getting up there every once and awhile.

Didnt get to go last week. Drama with the Slicks I bought trying to get them to fit. Took all night plus it was FREEZING to go and get my kids out in it. Plan on heading there next time it's open with my Slicks and NOS. Hoping for a 1.5 or 2 second Pickup in time! You oughta head down! 5 years is too long bro
I'm not trying to come out sounding like an @$$ or nothing....but why not put it together yourself? Are you away or something? If its the lack of knowledge then we've got guys on here who can take the time and have the knowhow to help you piece back the space shuttle if it landed in your yard ontop of your gazeebo and you wanted to fly it a total of 20 feet to get it off of your gazeebo but it fell apart. Thats how good we are :LS1LT1flag: Plus its a great learning experience.

Not sounding bad or anything. Very much appreciating the advice. The deal is that I am not very knowledgable and just started working on cars in the past year. I bought the car from my best friend's brothers buddy (follow that?) with a blown motor. Built the motor and got tons of experience working with my Best Friends Dad. He was the one I got my Z28 from. Anyways - with the motor built and ready to go in, I took it to my everything paint/body/mechanic guy and he started but didn't have the time to finish. Then I have had problems with the Wrong Dial Pin in the Cam and most recently the wrong Timing Cover. I have all the right parts now and would love to finish it myself - just kinda frustrated with how close it is to finished and am lacking the confidence in my rookie skills to finish it! I have bought two LT1 manuals but neither off them tell me how to finish this thing. After the timing cover comes the distributor, the water pump, all the pulley driven items, radiator and the a/c condensor. I know all that but don't know the order, the bolts and that stuff. Would love to do it myself!!!!!!!
Post up some questions in the LT1 tech about the timing cover and dowel pin for the 95 vented opti and then the rest in Gen Tech or 4th Gen tech and we'll get you together in no time :LS1LT1flag: = the BEST  Give us some info and we'll see what we can do.

Will do. Got the dial pin and the timing cover all worked out now. Now it's just a matter of putting things all together. LS1LT1 tech has been great so far so why would I expect any less? No one has beat me up yet, or like I was used to with all the immature import sites I used to be on before switchin over!
