Ummm...what? Steam? Are you sure it is steam or is it white smoke? If it is white smoke, I would venture to say it is head gasket related, but I don't see anyway it could be coming out of the filter. It does this all the time? I also don't see what a breather on the valvecover has to do with your s/c.

ya i put a k&n valvecover breather on &when the car is cold looks like condensation smoke being forced out of the breather very bad when it gets hot its not bad only under full throttle it runs strong it also comes out the tails.i know its not the s/c but do yu think that its being forced out the breather?

I would have to say blow by. Compression leaking past the rings causing positive crankcase pressure. Some people have it bad enough to blow oil past the main seals. Just make sure you are letting it vent(like with the k&n breather) and it should be fine.

If you start blowing oil out the top install a catch can. You usually see LS1's with this when they run boost.

Oooooh, ok. I guess I didn't understand at first what you were saying. Yeah, with white smoke coming out of the tailpipes like that, I would say that it is a blown head gasket. I have never had a breather filter on a car with a blown head gasket, but I suppose that smoke could come out of there as well. You may have better luck with opinions in another section. I am very savy with the ins and outs of installing superchargers and turbos, maintenance on them and whatnot, but troubleshooting things like that is not my forte. slow, ckj, or shoebox will probably be able to give you some help there.

Actually, this sounds accurate to me. I have seen a main seal literally come out and cause significant oil leaks (obviously) do to the pressure, but only under a lot of psi. I wouldn't think that could happen with only 6, but I'm probably wrong. It wouldn't be the cause of the smoke coming out the tail pipes though.

^^ I must have missed that part. White smoke out the pipes sounds like a headgasket to me too.
What does it smell like? Cotton Candy=headgasket

woooohooooooo i'm famous!!!!! I feel so wanted in life now

To check if its a headgasket, i'd recomment putting an old white t-shirt or rag over the tail pipes and seeing what color they it turns after the motor gets warmed up. If its the same color as your antifreeze whether it be orange/red or green, or heck even brown after you put stopleak in it, your gaskets ablown.

Meh, I guess so. What's important is that I am cuter than them all! (not saying much when comparing to slow, though)
