I have a stock 95' Lt1z28 auto with minor mods moroso cia b&m 2400 stall and shift kit, corvett servo no cat and a 3" pipe after the y pipe.I want some power .I know convets are slow but i want a car that will take hard tops.I wuz thinking water punp and valve train mods if its not too hard and i want to know wut i need to get 3.73's in there.Wut would i be looking at hp wise whith thae list of mods i have plus port polish head/intake,rockers,ewp,wut would be best mid or long tubes.and of course wuts the most nos i could run on a freshly reabuild motor.possibly forger pistons as well.:LS1LT1flag:

Well first off NOS is a brand name among many. Fast and the furious and other rice movies seem to have most people thinking it's a slang name for nitrous oxide.
Second, what really are you asking here? Do you want information on nitrous kits, or bolt ons, or gear setups? If all 3then make a thread for each in their respective forums. It's to hard to keep a thread alive on 3 subjects.
As for the best long tubes, are you asking the best long tubes on the market...or the best price/performance ratio long tube?
On a nitrous setup the general rule on a well tuned installation (not you, a professional) is 100-150 max on a full bolt on stock internals car. With forged pistons it's still not recommended to go much higher with out forged rods and crank. But, with a good head gasket, and if it was my car I would up it to 200.

Yeah... that setup before the Nitrous will take a stock hardtop...

In order to run nos, you need a couple of things... First, and most important is V-TEC. Then to balance out all the extra power, I would highly recommend some altezzas... You gotta have some bling to go with all that power. And you're going to be moving pretty fast after that so you'll probably want a wing, the bigger the better.:poke:
Really though, seperate it out so you can get good answers for each of your individual questions. And please do a search real quick before posting a thread, these three questions are asked quite a bit and answers can be found for all of them without too much digging. Sorry to give you such a hard time, but I just couldn't resist... Good luck getting everything figured out.

I'd toss a small cam in there, especially if you already have some port work done. Maybe a taller stall, and that will be quick enough for you.

I agree with taillights, throw a small cam in and they won't be able to touch you. If you want to keep it a sleeper, do something like the Crane baby cam... No one will ever even notice it's there...

well i picked up a corvette lt1 today for $600 after considering all this im going do port work,go 355,and get that new edelbrock intake. As for the cam im open to recomendations im not to shure wut u mean by small. As my daily driver im gonna do the other motor and order all the suspention stuff slowly while i do the motor cant wait for it to be done.Thanx peace.

Just make sure you take the heads and the intake down together to have the port-work done. They have to do some gasket matching to get that intake to work with your heads.

so who ever said the softtop was weaker then the hard top...chassis flex and aerodynamics may slow it a tad bit....port and polish heads, intake ,and longtubes can put you pretty deep....whynot put a cam in also...plus the nawwws youd be hella set....once you decide to pull the top end off you have lots of options

Convertibles are generally heavier. More weight to push = slower it will go

where is the added weight...I understand the more you weigh = slower thing...But i never found solid evidence of a softop weighing more than a hard top ,or t-top.. youd think it would be lighter

Sorry this topic has gone to something else...in theory you dont need any mods to run n20 exept the n20 kit..but more mods will help it...depending on the shot size...to be safe ,extra fuel and less timing..Oh and a car..lol

Look under the car, and you will find all the evidence you need. Not to mention the weight of the soft top motor.

Apparently you need to do some reading up about automobiles. Most convertibles are heavier due to bracing and reinforcements, and motors if applicable.
On topic: Get a wet kit and some NGK Tr6 plugs and be less worried than with a dry.

well red z28..mabey I should read somemore about automobiles,so i can find that answer....I cant say I ever owned or modded a convertible chassis.so I would not be familiar with ones undercairrage...but the next time I get a chance i will look..

I dont have a convertible,so it would be retarded to drive around looking for one to look under now wouldnt it.....Drop it..its pointless bickering now...

The C5s dont weigh more as a soft top cause they were originally desinged as a vert.
Also the last gen viper coupe weighs more than the convertib,e.
Just bein the devils advocate. haha
A convertible is about 50-100 lbs. heavier than a T-top car. FWIW

But there is no Viper Convertible. Its a roadster with NO ROOF, that you can add a half-assed clip on roof too. But it doesn't "convert" and store the roof inside the trunk. You have to leave the roof at home.
