Has anyone here installed gauges inside the vent holes on the front of the dash? I was going to block off flow to that area and install. How did you go about it? Any pics?
All i know is the 2 5/8's gauges push right in. I'd say if your going to block the flow of air to the back of the gauge, the best way is to just go in, take the dash out or part the way out and block it off from the air ducts. I'm not quite sure how you would go about doing that though :dontknow:

I suppose the air hitting the back of the gauges wont do much anyway would it? The car is only driven in the warm months. It has no a/c. I just needed a idea on how ppl usually do this. If they don;t bother blocking off air thats cool.
In My Opinion, if you don't have any AC then I wouldn't worry with it, I'd say the biggest problem you'd have with installing the gauges in the vents would have been the AC, the cold air producing condensation in the gauge causing the electronic goodies to corrode and act all funky. So if you have no AC then install away

One other issue is this car has a 1996 trans am dash. The car itself is a 1986 trans am. I used HVAC controls from a sunfire. So when you turn the blower on it comes out of all vents. I can do some further modding to correct this but its not much of a bother. Just pretty much checking if the air will have any effect on the gauges if I ever need it on a rainy day.
