I'm not necessarily planning on it, but having kinds now definitely makes me consider it as a possible choice instead of a Camaro.

yea very good point about the kids and it still gets the job done. Take the kids to after school activites during the week and take it to the dragstrip on the weekend

Nope, not buying it! I've waited until my kids were grown to have a hi-perf car. This is what they offer me? I have a 300 hp grocery getter/family and luggage hauler, it's called an Expedition. Where is my new T/A?:LS1LT1flag:

I will be considering it. I need to see it in person first though. I love the idea of it though. The next car will be either a G8, Camaro, or Challenger.

My thoughts as well. I'm leaning toward a Camaro, but the G8 has caught my wifes eye!

I had a Durango about five years ago, broke me of Mopars for LIFE! POS!
Never again... The Camaro is sexy as hell - not out of the question, but waiting for a hopefully possible Pontiac counterpart.:coffee:

Another option for me is a used CTS-V.
Can you get a stick in the G8?

piff u guys suck i just want a trans am now... cause i know id never be able to get a Camaro or challenger... and i think the g8 is just weird... i would much rather have another T/A
and plus why get the base model of a car thats like going to McDonald's and getting a salad.... so if i were to get that wicked Camaro it would defiantly SS oo baby

I'm not really falling in love with the new camaros. I have always been a bird guy. Next car on my list is a 79 T/A.

My wife and i are definately interested in the G8. The Camaro is cool i guess, but the G8s definately fit our "needs" much more!

I like it, at least what I've seen of it so far. I like the idea of a comfortable 4-door hot rod. I'd like the G8 even more if it were smaller and lighter, though. Closer in size perhaps to a BMW 3-series.
However, I just bought a new car in 2005, so I won't be in the market for a new car for a few more years.

I plan on pickin up a used G8 a few years after it comes out. I'll keep the TA as a weekend toy...but I'm ready to get out of the sports car as a daily drive niche....I think I'm starting to out grow it.

I imagine it's a bit like my old Bonnie SSEi, albeit an updated RWD platform... It's actually beginning to grow on me...

I'm downsizing to a Toyota, VW, or Mazda (4 or 6 banger), as this was the LAST V8 purchase for me!
Another 1.5 years, and the Hawk is RETIRED from daily useage. I know I cannot afford (2) gas guzzlers, nor the insurance.
Of course that goes w/o saying, I'm at war w/Pontiac right now regarding the sail panel TSB. They've gotten the last penny out of me, and thank goodness I have a GM Master Tech that can do the routine maintenance and modifications.
Pontiac can KMA:coffee:

I think the G8 is an interesting car. It has definitly caught my wifes eye and would serve my family real well. It just fits us better than the Camaro or Challenger. It is a luxury sedan that packs sportscar pizazzz! With the suspension its designed with and ride it will give along with being comparable to the BMW 3 series, I think GM is starting to see the light of day when it comes to designing and selling their cars. We as Americans like nice and when it comes from within our domestic borders we tend to be more ap to buy. Wonder if the will ever come out with a straight six that will have enough giddy up for us. Hey maybe they will even offer the car with a turbo or supercharger. After all thats what we like right, standard speed parts. Well I think it will be a big hit along with the Camaro and will help GM whoop ass again. Gotta love GM

GM needs to Nix the Six that they offer with it (3.6l) in favor of the 6 they offer in the Caddy with Direct Injection and mate that to an actual Hybrid system like Toyota offers. Where you can use either the Electric or the Gas engine with the Electric. Not like the piece mealed garbage Hybrid system they have in the Silverado that only assists the Gas engine and doesn't work alone or in conjunction with.

I'd love to see this in a Buick, maybe bring back the Skylark or Regal nameplate. They could even call the top performer a GS. :)

I wish I could wait, but I have to trade by July. If the GXP is out, I'm getting it, but it not, I'll get teh 09 GT +CAI,Cat-Back, Pedders, and Diff Upgrade. Should be about the same thing, just don't want to void any important warranties.
Any opinions and comments are welcome to help me and others out to upgrade our cars without voiding warranties:thumbsup:

Yeah and they are L92/LS3 castings for the heads so they can move some wind... headers and a cam swap would make one of these things a ANIMAL! Can you say 500hp!
I would like one but I have the SS and a 5.3L Truck so no need but the old man needs a replacement for his C5

Not a bad looking car, it needs the suspension package and a 6-speed but other than that it's a killer car.

yes, there is an older woman driving one around here :) seen it the other day, they are some bad ass cars

If they come out with a two door GXP model with the LS3(430hp), I think I might be tempted. I dont really care what they call it either, GTO, G8, GP, etc...

I am begging my wife to get one to replace her 2002 5 series BMW with one of these.......but she is not budging so far.......( I will NEVER buy another BMW - a car that costs that much should not have all the issues this car has had...)
Saw this car on autoweek - "best american sport sedan ever made".......

In never, never land I am afraid....
I had the opportunity to drive both the V-6 and V-8 G8 last weekend -
they are awesome pieces!!! The interior is the best thought out arrangement I've seen in a while ~ I actually preferred the V-6, mated up to a gnarly five speed auto - she launches!!! Seat of the pants says it runs as hard as my '94 did as a stocker (at legal speeds....)
Sadly, I had to settle for a base Grand Prix - I think I got the last new one in Ft. Worth  They had a GXP, but I didn't think it was 8K better than the 3800
