Custom Painted Trans Am tail panels for sale:
I am offering my custom painted tail panels for sale because I (like many firebird/TA owners) am annoyed that GM can't put decent paint on their tail panels to begin with. So I went ahead and created a solution.
When I do these panels, I take faded TA and Firebird tail panels, strip the finish, then apply multi-stage dupont lacquers for the new finish. The panel is then wet-sanded and polished. I don't go crazy with wet-sanding, but I make sure all the imperfections are removed from the finish.
My first few panels were painted using black lacquer that matched the factory GM black used on f-bodies. I have since switched to matching the panels to the taillights instead.
I can do just about any color combination, and many different designs. The entire panel face is clearcoated, so it will never fade or "wear off" like the GM panels do. It can also be polished and waxed just like the paint on your car.
It's not real easy to get ahold of these panels to start with, so i'm offering a "core exchange" price. I will send you the new panel, then you send me your old one. If you really want to keep your old panel, You can pay the "straight buy" price. Here's the price summary:
Single-color panels:
Panel Exchange: $80 (plus your old tail panel)
Straight buy: $110
Two-color panels:
Panel Exchange: $95 (plus your old tail panel)
Straight buy: $125
ALL PRICES INCLUDE SHIPPING to the continental US.
If you consider that replacement GM panels (the ones that fade within two years) go for $115, then this is a great deal.
PM me or Email at Shadow248@juno.com with questions or oders.
PICS...the first pic is Silver Chameleon paint, the second pic is arctic white and the third is bright red...the fourth pic is an example of a "two-color" overlay panel.
The silver panel has a "chameleon" silver metallic paint. In nuetral light, It's plain metallic silver, but when hit with direct sunlight it reflects red, orange, green, blue, and purple.
