hey man that looks awesome!! is it a kit or did you build it yourself? to many people do a turbo manifold/header and then another one, so the exaust flows farther on one side.

nice looks awesome where did you get the tubing from I almost want to attempt to build my own kit but I dont have a welder,did you do all the welds while it was in the car,what headers did you use,also it looks like you modified them a little near the collector,please do share more,sorry for all the ?'s

If you want the easiest manifolds to use to build something similar to this for dirty cheap.... go to the junk yard and buy manifolds off a 88-95 v8 truck... And im pretty sure the 96-99ish will work too.

You will lose a/c....

My seup is 1.5" primarys on the headers, 3" collectors, 2.5" crossover, and 3 inch downpipe. Abs deleted for cosmetic reason and alll that extra room! Everything on mine is held with v-bands.

If a buddy were to ask me to do his car i would go buy 88-95 truck manifolds... and the crossover (so i had the flange to attach to the manifolds), and build something very similar to this. Cost would be less than $500 for the hotside that route and support an easy 700 rwhp.

if you dont plan on buildin up the LT1 after the turbo build or anything anytime soon then a N/A build would yield much better results. The LT1's just have too much compression to really push and have fun with the boost when stock.

I mean serious... at 9 lbs people are seeing high 300's? 7 is like 350ish (thats like a bolt on/cam car)? shit heads and cam make more than the 9lbs.

But with dished pistons you could make a lot of power... I do plan on doing a SBC for this setup to go on...

but i been seriously contemplating rods/pistons/hardware and a cam/valvetrain upgrade to make a easy 500+ at the wheels through an auto with the LT1. Would be a lot of fun and give me some time to get used to all that power... and it is just a street car (500+ is not gunna hook anyways)

All depends on what i have to spend on it... gunna need a tranny soon too =/.. going T-braked th350 =D... one more thing to dump money into... :eek:

This weeks project was puttin in a vortec 350 into my 88 2wd RCSB chev...:D

becuz of where they point out when flipped... its perfect on the 88-95 manifolds... They are definitly NOT the only ones that will work.... But i KNOW they work...

Well kids i got it done and running... and not 20 miles into it i have a blown headgasket.

I over heated it a week before i took it apart for this project so this dont really surprise me.

Already bought all new gaskets and head bolts and will be putting it back together within the week.

Runs wicked hard... i wish i could give everyone of you a ride! :thumbsup:

First romp In it ever i was racing a STi and waxed it.... learned later that that STi runs 12.7's and this is at a 5000'+ altitude

This is what it looks like now. Will be a little cleaner after I replace the head gaskets.

Why do people always ask me this? haha.. I have no idea. You have one of these cars. Go freaking measure!!! Damn. Just pick out the area you want it to sit in and measure it.:duh: Simple stuff. Don't over complicate things. ;)

I decided against the SBC because i can get a set of fully worked 205cc AFR heads for $1000 for the lt1. And my Lt1 pride (or whatever) has come up a bit and would still like to open the hood and see a Lt1.

I do a 383 with splayed mains and low compression with the AFRs and port matched intake. Thats the plan. Megasquirt/stock pcm will run the works.
