For LT1, very little mileage, the set up is a bit harsh for me, Im getting too old for this crap and want the car to be a little more comfortable.

Its a great set up for those that dont mind what goes along with a aluminum flywheel and puck style clutch.

I will probably have it out of my car by the end of next week, I have the transmission out now and Im just waiting for the weather to break a little and for my new stock clutch and flywheel to come in.
If someone wanted it I could remove it in no time and take some pictures of whatever you would want to make you comfortable.

This set up is worth close to $1000 new, lets say $500 OBO?

PM me or email Robf300@optonline.net
thanks.

Does the flywheel have a steel insert? Or is it just straigh aluminum? Thanks. Pressure plate included?

I will include the whole set up, remove everything and ship it. I would just get a new throw out bearing or bushing from your local dealer- which is cheap while I had it all out before putting this in.

this is the summit racing listing for the flywheel, and the other listing is for the clutch

I might be interested in just the clutch as a spare. When was the clutch bought new?

the clutch has less then 3k miles on it, I will inspect it carefully and provide pictures before I even think of accepting payment on it.

Grims could get the clutch and I could get the flywheel

Yes, but when was it bought?

I have no idea, it was on the car when I got it, I have put 100 miles on the car since I have had it, the previous owner put about 2-3k on it.

Is there some sort of production run you are looking for?
This was a street driven car, not track raced.

Some of the earlier SPECS had a lot of issues.

ok, define early, months ago? years ago?
anyway to tell?

honestly I would rather the thing sit on the shelf and collect dust if its going to turn into a hassle, its a expensive clutch that could serve someone usefull if they like that style clutch.

I dont even know what set up im going with, apparantly the WS6 store must be so busy they dont return calls, and getting a live person on the phone over there is impossible as well.

I think im just going to go with a dealer clutch and flywheel.

Don't let the flywheel sit on the shelf. PM being sent your way tonight

I bet it's more the flywheel that you don't like, my SPEC 3 feels almost like stock.

I have people telling me all different things- one says the flywheel, another says the clutch, another says both

I know it jumps RIGHT into gear once you let off the clutch, there is drivetrain chatter and noise- which im told is from the light flywheel and is a normal characteristic of such.

the guy who did the transmission wants me to change it all- he thinks stock is the best for my application- remember my car is only 2700-2800 lbs. But it still kills me to put a heavy flywheel in there, thats why I wanted a custom one from someone- but Im not having good luck with that at all:dontknow:

The flywheel shouldn't be causing the chatter for it has the steel insert. That and so it won't burn all the hell up at the track like a solid alum.

My way of looking at it is less rotating mass on the bottom end..faster turning, mmm 4340 I beams lets spin that motha!

the way my transmission guy explained it was that the fact it has less rotating mass so that it keeps the engine spinning so to say when you engage the clutch, putting more stress on the transmission.

I heard it will just cause extra gear noise. Hmm... this ain't sounding good for the sale...

Grims

He said 500, which is a good deal. Just the flywheel costs that much.

took it all out today- I am not comfortable with selling the clutch.

I am going to have my clutch guy rebuild it with a solid instead of the puck style kevlar disk.

Also got a nice lesson in clutches, seems as though there is only a very small handfull of people who make racing clutches, most take stock clutches and do some kind of thing to them to make them high performance, then sell them for a crap load more money.

He explained it to me, I dont know all the technical mumbo jumbo.
There is also the original name on the flywheel- guess Fidanza does not make that themselves either, it had a hand scratched Fidanza part number on it, but the flywheel itself is made by another company.

The clutch said SPEC on it, its like a blue purple or blue, if you look carefully it says VALERO but they tried to cover it up a little bit- threw that fancy paint on it, stick a SPEC sticker on it and sell it for double- quite the racket let me tell you.

So if anyone wants custom clutches built for a FRACTION of what these things cost new I can pass his info on to you.

Meanwhile I am taking both off the market- the flywheel needs re-surfacing so Im going to let him re-surface it and give it another try now that the transmission is rebuilt and the clutch will no longer be that puck style that I simply dont like.

Stay tuned, hopefully get it all back in the car before the weekend:LS1LT1flag:

it looked too scortched for my liking, im sure the flywheel is not 100% either if the clutch was that scortched, the flywheel needs re-surfacing.

Sorry for anyone that might have been waiting.

I got burned buying a used set up myself a few years ago, would not want to do it to someone else.

Put my rebuilt transmission and new clutch in.

Thank god, the car rides SOOOOOOOOO much better now.
How people drive puck clutches is beyond me?

Had a custom clutch made using the pressure plate from my spec 3 clutch, had the Fidanza flywheel re-surfaced and the car drives 100000% better and
is so much more streetable.

Cant wait for the roads to dry up enough to get this thing through the gears!

Those of you with a grinding gear that have to granny shift the car- get it fixed!
