Installed converter a few weeks ago. Then I raced it for the first time and after it got out of first gear it got back up to 5000 RPM in 2nd and wouldnt really climb RPM after that, and consequently never made it to 3rd. I only noticed it at WOT.

Any possible reason for this. I havent gotten it tuned since the coverter/gear install, so I think that may possibly be it.

Any input is greatly appreciated..

Thanks,
MArc

Yeah, you need a tune.

Check your fluid level too

Fluid level is ok. I think it will just need a tune. I was just curious if maybe anyone knew about this problem or has had it before

What year car is this? How big of a stall speed?

^^ like chris said. what year? motor? and has it been tuned forrr the stall? what gears do you have in the rear? that could also make your trans feel like its slipping

Its a 95 trans Am LT1. Converter is 3500-4000 stahl TCI. gears are 3.73's trans doesnt feel like its slipping. When it gets in second gear at WOT the car wont climb in RPM past 5000 really. Since its at WOT it wont go into 3rd gear cause its tuned to shift at 6000+ RPM Car has no problem going over 6000 RPM in first gear, but it seems as soon as it gets into 2nd it wont climb over 5k like it falls on its face..

Car has not been tuned since converter and gear install
