have any of you heard any thing about the new Delteq opti-direct system that does away with the opti-crap . it basically converts it to a distributorless system like on the northstar. you can place the coil packs either on lower rad shroud(camaro/firebird) or on the valve cover(caprice/impala/roadmaster/camaro/firebird) valve cover app sound to me like it would get to hot. just wondering if it is worth the $650 that paceperformance is selling it for.:lookleave

We have all heard of it. Its nifty except for the fact you have to have a good opti for it to work. So whats the point?

I have this system on my wagon and I really like it. It can be done for less than $650. I believe it requires only the crank sensor portion of the Optispark which, as I understand, is a part that doesn't usually go bad. Mine was pretty much plug and play. I had to mount it on the firewall because of space considerations and wanting the valve covers to look cleaner.
The reason I went with it is because it's just too much trouble in my setup to ever have to pull out the Optispark. It was easy to justify the dollars on that basis.

Looks pretty cool and pretty easy to me. Makes me wanna give up the $650 to convert.

It uses the optical also. Which is the part the totaly kills your opti.
