Security light

I have a 2002 Trans Am and when I start the car the security light stays on. I have not had any problems starting the car, but the security light is always on. I tried a different key but that didn't do anything. Is this something to be concerned about?

as long as it starts. after a rainy day (left the keys in the ignition overnight) it would not start and left me stranded for college. I have no idea what it is but if it starts you should be alright. But your alarm system might not work.

u might wanna bring it to the dealer to have it checked out..ive been told that if it stays on it might be malfunctioning or not recognize the chip in the key... which happend to me... i someone how demagnetized my key and my security light came on and then it froze the car from starting.. had to have it towed to a dealer..

sounds like a lock cylinder issue. happened to me last year.
