Hi. As a poor student, I was looking at project for a '88-92 Camaro, but if I graduate this year, next year I might be able to go for a 1998 SS instead of a 88-92 Iroc-z. So, as for the 93+ models, I lack information about the engine. LS1/LT1, ect. Might be good to teach me something about the newer models. So, for the 98 SS, I have some questions: 1) Vortech Supercharger + Aftercooler 2) Procharger 3) T 4) T.T 5) Lingelfelter Kit 6) A new engine However I'm way more into supercharger than turbos. However since 2 or 3 years V8 with single turbos or twin turbo seems to appears more and more. Anyway i'm old school and into supercharger. The things I don't like with 98 models is that you can't swap a carbed V8 in it. And Fuel Injection / modern engine cost 3 times more to modify. I'm not really interested by Procharger. However it might be good. The thing I don't like about S/C is that since it is run by a pulley, you're struck at 5 or 14 PSI. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it is limited. So, what do you think ? I can't buy a 10,000$ engine anyway.

i vot procharger as well. and i know! my camaro had a P1SC procharger at 7.5 psi with an intercooler. it was great! ANNNNND superchargers arent limited BECAUSE you can put on a larger pulley and then put a manual ORRR an electronic boost controller that way you can turn the boost up and down. STS makes a rear mount turbo kit for an LS1 and an LT1 thats make just as good power as the 6 psi procharger kit. so that means its up to you ive only heard good about the STS kit. they make procharger pulleys up to 22 lbs. the lingenfelter kit is way overpriced. and getting anew motor isnt a good idea because LS1s and LT1s are greeeeat motors as it is! all they need to be powerful NA motors are heads and a cam! with 10000 you can build onnneee meannnnn LS1

Looks like Procharger wins. However is it centrifugal or what? Does not work like a roots. 22 lbs, nice.

its a centrifugal GEAR driven with a serparate oil cavity. 22 lbs or something in the 20s. it runs right off the belts LIKE a roots type blower, but its not mounted on top of the motor/intake manifold. think of it as a mix of a turbo and a blower. take the instant torque and less heat from a blower with the horsepower and adjustability of a turbo and the boost of a turbo.
