Can anyone tell me what this suffix is? I m not sur what this motor is out of and I need to buy computor.

I can tell you right now the motor is out of a Caprice due to the cast iron heads. Are the number "327" all over the block? If your sure its a 96 than you have a 96 Caprice Motor.

Is there a diferrence in caprice motor and a impala SS motor?

Yeah, it could be an L99 and not an LT1. The L99 is a 4.3L

It is a 327 block it says 5.7 on back behind head. If I buy a computor for a caprice will that cover it?

If it says 5.7 then it is definitely an LT1 350 then.

according to the code it was built august 8 of 96. I would call that 96?

Shouldn't really make a difference between a 96 or 97. Just as long as its an OBDII
