Yeah I would not mind knowing either, seeing how I have one. Anyone know?

Depends on the model of transmission and what the guts are like in it.

If you are talking totally stock don't expect a 4L60E to hold up past 400rwhp for very long. With upgraded internals they can handle a lot more power.

so if i do all basic bolt ons it should handle the power just fine?

I think with basic bolt ons you should be fine. When you do heads and cam you should upgrade it.

Should be fine with all the bolt-ons. It's a pretty decent tranny as far as factory automatics go these days.

The factory rating for the 4L60E is 375 LB FT of Torque.

I have bolt ons and a Converter and mine is now shot.

I have had the Converter for 3 yrs getting two good years out of the tranny with it.

i blew mine up with very minimal bolt-ons at 52k.....im also lugging around close to 1000lbs. more than you f-body guys. they arent very good transmissions IMO. when you do blow it up, get one built by a reputable shop (pro-built, team tripp, dynotech) you wont be sorry. the mom and pop shops just cant be trusted, i've heard too many horror stories of people blowing rebuilt 4l60e's just months later because the shop they used didnt know what they were doing

I dont have a very positive outlook on them, I have seen really built ones in the 9s and 10s, but I have also seen the same trans that are supose to be built, all by reputable places, gernade in low 11 sec cars constantly. I like my 4L60, because having over drive rocks, but if it went, I would be very tempted to go down to Transking or Circle D and get a TH350 built, I have plenty of friends in the mid 9s w/ TH350 cars
