What all does the scanner scan?

This will sound silly for the experts but I dont know so Im asking. I need to know what a scanner scans on my car. (eg does it do 02 sensors, ICM etc) Please list.

I have a 95 transam .

you talking about scanning software like auto tap?

it reads codes(ses) and provides data from all of your cars sencors(IAC,AIR,INLET TEMP,ect ect ect ect...) lets just say, alot ;)

Done everything. Still stumbles at idle. I thought the scanner maybe missed something.
