so i show up at my local hang out and there is a bunch of ricers there and there all in "team nite vizion" . and i unforuntetly i know some of them and none of them can drive. so they come up to me and want me to race a srt4 and at first im not to keen on the idea so they keep egging me on and finally i decided to do it... none the less they all thought he was gonna smoke me..he doesnt even heat his tires up at the line and im like ya i got this... so i out launched him like a bat out of hell and went by the finish line at least 4 cars ahead and it was pricless to see the dissapointed look on all the ricers faces...and the kid didnt even stick around just took off... nice guy huh... nothing beats smackin on some rice hehe

I used to love the cars just because they are the quickest thing under 20 grand but after talking to some of the owners there all pricks. I think the 350z, corvette and f-body owners are some of the nicest guys and girls around. You hardly ever see two people that own a vette or a 350 not get along but youll always see ricers fighting with each other. I guess they just do that because they've got noone else to fight with who wont totally kick there ass in a race.

Bolt ons on my Buick V6 got 11.37@117
Bolt ons on the Talon 4 cyl got 12.50 @111
Bolt ons on the SRT got 12.84 @ 119 missed third gear.
All with stock internals and street tires.
Talon with a Buschur motor and other mods {alot} made 604 whp, no track times in this body but it ran 9.64 in Davids Talon with a stock fuel management system. I know their are faster V8 cars out their as their is faster V6 and 4 cyl. cars . I also know when I go to the track I win alot more than I lose. Drive em in drive em home. No slicks no tricks.

the only reason i would be seen driving a 4 cyl is if there was 2 feet of snow on the ground. Nothin personal, i just love stock muscle cars that roll off the line with 300-400 HP. My Ski-Doo Mach Z has more HP then most production 4 cyl and is A LOT faster. Not to mention the design of the LS/LT1s, vett's etc, is unparallel. There are a lot of cars faster then mine but i still would rather be seen in a Trans Am. It looks like it wants to kill everyone :D

It was meant to be 12.8 at 119MPH so I would say it was big power for a bolt on only 4cyl. On a good run it would have been a solid 11 sec. but it wasn't and it didn't,but the 119mph shows that it is making some good power but of course you v8 guys would have to mph better than this wimpy 4 cyl ! :rolleyes:

I can agree that certain 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder cars have value. I would mod a 2nd gen DSM, an SRT-4, a WRX/Evo/STI, a Supra, a Grand natty, etc etc. There are plenty that are very good cars.

Ok what do you say to me then? I have built big blocks,small blocks,and built 1 honda motor ground up and did a few things on others. In fact i am actually a honda fan and would love to work for honda. Hell i even raced a few buddies cars at the strip. Im not a person who takes shit out of a magazine i no my shit and can build it too. I have been racing for some time now. So from me someone who has been in both worlds and raced in both worlds i would say imports/domesticated imports (talon,srt's) suck..compared to a stock for stock ls1. Or You take 5k and ill take 5k and ill put it into an ls1 and you cna put it into a talon and ill see you at the finish line.

This is a open forum. But it's also ls1/lt1.com. If you don't want us V8 guys jumping down your thoat don't say shit like this. I think we all have sacrificed in some way either financially or other to get the cars we have today and take a lot of pride in them. Also keep in mind what a Neon weighs...sure big power but it doesn't take nearly as much HP to move a Neon 119mph in the 1/4 as it does an F-body or G-body for that matter.

All the turbos in the world can't give an SRT-4 the v8 rumble...not everything is about smacking big block guys either. I don't live my life just for beating guys in other cars....I guess I don't have such a chip on my shoulder. Randy you make it sound like the only reason you are on this planet is to piss off guys with V8s.

I want a car that looks good, handles well, sounds good, and is fast as hell. For me the little Neon on steroids doesn't cut it for me in several of those departments.

I guess if all you want is a car to go out and embarrass people with then yeah get an SRT4 and spend $10 grand on it so you can beat big block cars. Remember anything can be made fast with enough money, and no matter how fast you are there's somebody faster out there.

On a side note...I don't think everyone in hear thinks it's a big deal to take down ricers or 4cyl. Most the time from what i've seen the people that drive around ricers or modded out 4 or 6cyl drive around with a chip on there shoulder. 9 out of 10 times they will be the ones to rev there engines at us 8 cylander owners. So when someone wants to fight and gets there ass kicked it's humerous. I don't have anything personal against these cars or even fart canned ricers.
