SS inductions "bigmouth induction kit" was installed 2 nights ago. took about 2 hours to put it on because of the modifications we had to do to the stock airbox. all in all, it looks stock and well, i hope it added horsepower.

what accordian? you mean the blue coupler? that was the only color the rubber shop had.

notice the ribs in the blue deally...thats why its called an accordian. you can buy just straight plastic/rubber ones, look up fernco at a hardware store.

edit: and lose the stickers u wanna be ricer.

none of the hardware stores have one that goes from 4 inches to 3. that's why i had to go to a specialty hose store and get this. and as far as stickers, i only have the SLP one on. every other sticker came on the bigmouth induction kit.

Looks good but i'm not sure how much you'll gain from a box where the air has to make a 90' turn and then through a MAF and accordian style connector...maybe 5 - 10hp ?

You might make more by taking that box off and just attaching a 9" cone style filter.

already tried that.. i used to have a speed inc HFI setup. all it did was suck in hot air. after driving it around, it felt really sluggish. and neal i know you're gonna say its sluggish because my car is slow so KISS MY ASS. :drive: :grin2:

You the only person having this problem? Or do alot of GTO owners with the Speed HFI set up get this? Because that doesn't make sense, you should have fresh air coming up there.

almost everyone with this setup complains about the heat. or anyone with any open air filter complains about the heat. the GTO/monaro is notorious for heat soak... and the cone filter coming right by the drivers side header doesn't help at all too. sure there is fresh air but think about it. HOT air doesn't help at all. that's why more and more people are selling their ones and getting the lingenfelter one. the lingenfelter has a heat shield and it helps A LOT.

I saw a home-made CAI on a turbo GTO setup. The guy just extended the piping down into the fender well area. Buicks are the same way, real hot in the engine area....but I doubt you're going to feel it being "sluggish". For years, Turbo Buick vendors attempted to develop "ram air intake" setups and such. The CAI that made the most power and introduced the most "fresh air" - cone filter. Even though it was no more than 2 feet from the hot ass motor, exhaust and turbo. JMO...
