Eyewitnesses said the car sounds supercharged, confirming reports the engine is likely a blown version of the Z06’s 7.0-liter V8, producing upward of 600 hp.

The blue car from the ring was not a blue devil..just a regular Z06 that turned a 7.42.9 lap..Magnusson was the driver

That's what I was thinking as nobody came up with a definate fact or picture that showed the motor. It was mere speculation. :judge:

they had better build it. couple grand extra into a Z06 and then charge the consumer way more, its almost a quick buck for GM and also soon to be one of the most formidable car on the road. :hitit:

ya but the problem with supercharging it is that the ls7 is pretty high compression already. so they would either have to use dished pistons and different heads or run like 5 psi...not sure if gm would do that since the ls7 was designed to be an n/a motor.

agreed. isnt compression like 12:1? I bet she could handle 5psi though. I dunno we'll see.

We have developed a low compression piston for the LS7. They should be ready to ship in February.

I've read with the new Federal standards for '07 or '08, Chevy will most likely revise their powerplant for the Z. To make the same power, it will most likely either have to be a high compression 6.2L, which won't meet gas mileage standards, or a 6.2L with a supercharger.

Personally, I think they should go turbo!
