I just helped my friend put on a Cold air intake on his 96 trans am, the breather goes all the way down to the plastic on the bottom of the car. we were wondering if we cut out a hole on the plastic were the breather is if it would help it breathe even better. Any ideas on if this would work would be greatly appreciated. :drive:

Hmm im not quite sure what your talking about since i havnt owned a 4th gen. But im assuming that its something like the 3rd gen. Where it forces the air up to the radiator? Anyways, If it blocks direct airflow then i would say yeah.. If you cut a whole where it gets constant airflow then yeah you would benefit.. Enough to tell? No .. Dont listen to me though.. Im a little :chug:

Yeah it might help it out but you will also be exposing it to water not a good thing. It has been a while since I owned my lt1 but I believe you are talking about on the drivers side by the fender where the cold air kit runs toward the bottom of the car. There is a plastic piece there that keep the elements out, ie water. If that is what you have I would leave it in.
