GM has stated- The second coming/new era of the GTO will be brought back to its roots in America-Production in 2008 will have extended body length and will become more appealing to the original GTO lovers. Much more tradition will be brought into the styling by engineeers and designers

Will have a probable 500 hp (possible LS7 or similar motor) and will be much better balance and engineered vehicle!

I can't wait to see it (ohh p.s. insiders note...the bird and camaro will be back---jsut give the GTO and Vette some time)

i ****in want the bird back. i'm a hardcore T/A fan....to the bone. i love the 'vette just as much too....but is a little rich for my blood right now. plus the T/A is always a little more mean. I am thinkin 'bout gettin me a good job here soon.....maybe I can get a new T/A in '07 if so :evil: SOM here we come mutha****as!!!!!

I've heard on one of the other boards that the camaro will be back in 2007 with a retro style.. The guy lost his job cuz he leaked out the info..

So the gto will get a whole new look in 2008?

I too think if they changed the styling of it, it may sell more units. Too many people think it looks like the sunbird.

I like the 05 gto better, the ls2, hoodscoops and true duals make it a little meaner. As far as making the 2008 gto retro, I do not know about that, the past is the past it can not be redone, the gto was a true classic. The designers of today are to limited in what they can do because of gm global platform sharing. I agree the gto could be better, but how many 400hp rwd cars are there on the market in the low 30 price range? Not bashing, just sick of retro. I hope the car has traditional pontiac cues so you know it is a pontiac, but does its own thing with a fresh design.

Its not all that bad can not beat 430 hp :-D
