The old man (my dad) is bugging me to do his car it is a 2000 slp ss m6 12,000 miles, the car is pristine only ever been in the rain once when we ran the power tour(hint he is getting old and is anal about his car). So far I have installed a 12 bolt with 4.10's, lca's, panhard, subrames, slp headers, Z06 clutch, air box ect the usual bolt ons. He wants to get around 400 to 420 rwhp with civility, ie no cam surge ect idle issues ect. I am running a 231/237 in mine with a set of heads and he thinks that is a little too extreme for him, yet I run cats and passed pa emissions. So the question is given a budget of $2500 what cam/heads would you purchase to reach this goal. Keep in mind, I have all needed gaskets, headbolts, ported oilpump, new timing set, and ls6 intake that i am donating to the project as well as my free labor. It will more then likely have to be something with a 114lsa. I have some ideas but I am always open to some more suggestions or any combinations that you guys have experience with. I'd maybe go with a Lingenfelter package. Who can resist and think the Lingenfelter package would not be street-able. Did your dad know of John Lingenfelter?

Yep he knows of lingefelter, he is an old gearhead dragracer form back in the day. That is a good idea though will check it out.

They have a Lingenfelter CNC Ported LS1 Cylinder Heads, Camshaft & Intake Special. It is comprised of their CNC ported LS1 Aluminum cylinder heads, LS1-GT2-3: 207/220 duration @ .050 .573/.580 camshaft, and a Fast 78 MM Intake manifold. There is a $600 core charge for heads, but it comes in at $2595.00. Seems good to me and they stand behind a strong reputation. :mohawk:

I agree, he got a bug up his ass about the afr's, wants them so I said why not just go big all the way. I think that would be an interesting combo, lacks the civility he intially wanted :banghead: . He is going to make his mind up this week. I will let everyone know :-D

Well parts are finally ordered, went with a set of tea's gp on tech and a futral f 14 should be a strong combo, parts should be here in 2 weeks. I can not wait to get it together :drive:

Car is tore down, new ported pump is installed, new chain, parts are back from the powder coater but the heads and cam are still not here yet :banghead: . Talked to brent at tea and should ship today.

back order on the arp bolts, i changed to head studs today, talked to brent from tea today, heads are done, he gave me the flow numbers i was happy i will post them once i get the flow sheet. Rails were backordered will ship tommorrow with the injectors, i ordered the damn underdrive pulley two weeks ago and it still is not here. Cam will be ready on Monday so by Wednesday I should be putting it all back together, already have the new chain and ported pump on, parts are back from the powder coater, been sitting ready for a week. Can not wait to get it together! I guess this is just the wrong time of the year to order parts :banghead:
