I'm thinking the pistons are the weak point? What generally needs to be forged for high hp?

well, yea. If you wanting to spray the engine, it might be best to get all forged internals (crank, pistons, etc...), port the heads, rods, rockers, pushrods, custom ground cam.
Or you can spend the same money on the ZZ crate 572.

There are some crazy people out there spraying the stock short block with a 200 - 250 wet shot. I guess as long as you have the correct jets in the system with the correct fuel and a good pump, you won't have any issues.
That is my experience anyway. I sprayed my car with a 250 shot and no issues.

STOCK RODS!!!! the connecting rods are weak...pistons are ok until you REALLY start throwin some crap at it. crank is good to about 800hp, more when cryo-treated. i'd use a stock crank in a forged motor if it wasn't for the fact i want more stroke then they can offer ;)

Pushrods andCam for the most part-not strong at all- Cam doenst produce enough power and the Pushrods are very liable to bedn if something fgoes rogn
