i wish i knew, that way i would know when to sell the kidney. i think gm's keeping that as tight as everything else. ive i hear anything you'll be the 2nd person to know.

what is the new Z06 supposed to be rated at in HP? its more than the C6 correct?

The general census out there is ~500hp. :P

Hopefully with GM's older trend (doesn't really apply to the standard C6) the car will be doing its 500hp at the wheels. My SS, stock, dynoed HIGHER than the factory flywheel HP/TQ rating to the wheels. :twisted:

Here are the facts that have just been released.

1) The Yellow pictures of the Z06 are the real thing.
2) It will have a 7.0 427 CI 500 HP and 475 ft. lbs. of tq.
3) It will have an all aluminum frame with a magnesium eng. cradle.
4) It will be a fast back non removable top.
5) It will have Carbon Fiber body fenders, hood and deck lid.
6) It will come in Victory Red, Black, Silver, Lemans Blue, DSOM and Yellow.
7) It will have 3 different int. colors.
It will have 2 different equipment grps. much like the Convertible.
9) It will have a dry sump oil sys.
10) It will have run flat tires.
11) It will be offered in a 6spd. only.

There is one more fact about it that that I have not been able to confirm and it has not been posted anywhere on the net. I don’t know what this fact is but I am told it is big. So we will have one more sup prize in Jan. when the car is debuted.

What if the secret was factory installed nitrous! or turbo! :P actual a turbo or bottle feed 7.0L that only had 500 crank hp would be pretty bad...

what was teh new mustang GT rated at? Where does the C6 stand in the competition as far as the new cobra and stuff?

new cobra should be right around 390~400hp. expect another blower 4.6L car again. i see it being a little slower than a stock c6. c6 runs a 12.7, previous 03/04 cobra runs a 12.9ish. It wont be anywhere close the Z06 though, no thats closer to Ford GT territory. Rumor also has it that they are bringing back the Shelby Cobra for 2007/08, so that will probably be aimed at the Z06/Viper area.

I haven't heard of anything like that. Berger has a 650hp Camaro but
those things demand a premium price.

I doubt Chevrolet would ever do anything like that as they tend to lean toward the Corvette being the top dog.

chevy wont produce a factory camaro that would out do the vette. expect the next camaro to probably have an ls2 but restricted exhaust and intake to get lower numbers. Only 700hp I'd ever think of would be GMMG or SLP doing a special deally.

I agree. If they make a camaro that out does the vette from the factory, the corvette will take a major loss in sales.
