show him the scandalous dvd where they put a hidden kit on a rental c5 vert and then go make alot of money. now tell him his car already runs .5 faster than that car stock....so imagine the $$ he can rake in :P

Tell him to put a NX wet kit on that thing. 150 shot would make a nice difference.

I was going to show him this post at his work today. However, their entire
internet for the whole building kicked the bucket. So, then he and I had to scout out the issue. Imagine what we found - a bad RoadRunner High Speed Modem....no way! :!:

tell him my 5000 pound truck with nitrous will give him a good run, that might do it.

Yeah, that was badass. Ask him why not put nitrous on the car.

I guess he is now thinking of installing a kit and going with a 100 shot. As long as I read the directions, i'll tell him the instructions call for this pill and that pill - a 250 shot....hahahaa.

Yea, a Z06 on the giggle gas is a hard combo to beat. On my web site I have pics of install on my '97, but is basically same on Z06. I like dry as it is safer imo. In my web site under links is some good info concerning the wet vs dry option. Also, some install links. Go for it you'll never regret it. If you have any questions you can e-mail or do it on thread.

Wet kit is actually generally safer unless you upgrade your fuel system, even then. Wet kits are plug and play. Don't want to run out of gas! ;)

If you go into my site under links and check link to thread from corvetteforum wet vs dry, you might be surprised. I did 5177 NOS dry 125 on my '97 C5 with stock, tune, plugs, injectors, fuel pump for a couple years, no problems. My Zo6 is currently running stock tune, injectors, fuel pump. You really only need to up grade injectors/fuel pump if your doing a 150+ kit on stock or sooner if you have mods. If a wet and/or dry kit is set-up correctly as per manufactures specs, a wet has a much greater chance of causing $$ repairs concerning mech/elect failures, whereas a dry will be fine when running redunant n2o noids.

Good information Robert. I guess it's all up to the person's personal preference. If they feel much safer with a wet kit, they are apt to get it.
The dry kits work, I know it, you know it but some people out there will
just want the wet kits.

Personally, anything higher than a 150 on the juice, I prefer the wet kit.

I am a fan of the wet kit also but to each his own

i like the idea of a wet kit only b/c i would think its easier to tune for. i'm gonna be running an fm-9, and i'm prolly gonna spray while i save up for an ATI kit. i'm going to be tuning my car myself, so tuning for a dry kit would be a PITA. correct me if i'm wrong tho.....nitrous isn't my area. always want to learn the RIGHT info :)

I basically agree with what's been said, however, if running a smaller dry it is cheaper, simpler, no re-tune and safer. If you want to go big without to much tuning then wet is the way, but remember, if you can't pay don't spray.
Here is part of the thread from my link in web site:

I agree on dry if you go past 125hp, time for injectors. But, that added cost is worth it considering the safety built into redunant n20 noids on the dry kit.

More to the point,
on wet if your fuel noid sticks closed it is going to continue to spray n2o and then no way to add additional fuel (your after maf)so you run lean and problems (boom).
This does not happen on dry kits.

Wet kit and fuel noid sticks open, you'll keep pumping fuel even after you stop n20 shot, and fuel puddling can cause top to blow.
This does not happen on Dry.

Wet kit n2o noid sticks closed and now your pumping extra fuel and causing a rich condition that sometimes leads to the dreaded intake/hood removal, just do a search and you'll see this does happen.
This does not happen on Dry.

Wet kit and n2o noid sticks open after run at lower rpm, boom.
This does not happen on 5177 dry with redunant noids.

And also the low pressure bottle problem above points to dry as safer.

I believe Cartex is changing one of their big dog cars over to dry system, so maybe dry will get some respect in the future. I have run mostly wet over the last 20+ years, but I like dry on the ls1/ls6 for reasons stated and more.
