It is - between Dallas and Ft. Worth... I know I had mentioned maybe going a little further south. I don't see why we can't have two meets. One for the guys who want to hang up north, and one for those who want to meet up with the central state guys. I'm still game for both places, as long as it's not the same day/time.
My only hang up is Saturday mornings - we work our weeks O/T from 6a until 10 or noon. I can skip it with a little notice (couple days), but have to go if I say I will.
I was hoping to meet Grimsy before he goes off to Tacoma to become a tree hugger - trading in the Pontiac for a Subar eew... What they gonna do when they run out of paper towels? I've had a look at the map, and it looks to me like Marble Falls is the "epicenter" for the hill country area. How's that? The calendar shows Easter weekend in the middle of 95Formula's window and it's a three day weekend for me - but I am pretty sure the Mrs isn't letting me out town then, which leaves the 14th and 15th. Grims - are you moving? When?
This lil' run will need to be a weekend event, too far for a one day fun drive, but I can light out at like 5 am Saturday and make it a one day deal. Y'all feel free to punch holes in it! :lol:

i usually just take the 183 route...but from Copperas Cove to 289 is fm 2657 and its got some GREAT twisties. havent taken the formula on it, but the goat LOVES it. seeing as how i just had a lot of suspension mods from umi on my formula...ill probably take it out for a ride on that road.

Last I heard, the track session was tentatively scheduled for sometime in May but was unconfirmed, and I've seen several posts alluding to San Antonio not being central enough for the club as a whole. I also have a few other posts floating around out there about a possible meet in the DFW area, but not getting a great deal of interest on the DFW gig. I do know that the NTTGA has a club meet tomorrow afternoon at Springcreek BBQ in Grapevine, and the Musclecar Club is meeting out at Kennedale on Sunday.

Boy Howdy! I'll second Twin Peaks - went up there a couple of weeks ago with the N. Tx 3rd Gen boys... Great folks, but I HATE that f'in traffic over there, 8 miles of stop and go on 121 at supper time Sunday - go figure :mad:

Me too! I'd have to swap wheels and tires to clear them. I also want UMI 3pt. subframe connectors , KYB monotube fronts and I still need to swap in an MSD cap and rotor. The MSD gear goes in over Easter weekend. And I want to swap out my vacuum hoses, fog lites and side markers, but I have to get into the f'in clip.....So much to do, so little time :devil:

I was wanting to get most of this BS done by the April meet, but I don't know how I'm gonna get it all done. My attorney is pushing the hell out of me to get Dad's estate wrapped up, and the escrow and title companies can't seem to send me things that take less than half a day to read, sign and return. On top of that, the boss wants me working six days a week and now I get to do all the home stuff and find time to do the shopping, go to the bank, and last but not least, find another 60 hour every morning just to drive my wife to work until she gets rid of the boot.

I would wary of running the go-go juice :devil: with the miles on up there. I won't even consider it with mine at 98K, but I am also a fan of normal aspiration. Gimme cubes and compression, thank you very much.Yes, nitrous makes more power, but it comes at a price - longevity. If your plan is a rebuild motor, no sweat then. :thumbsup:

so far what we have gathered is saturday (14th) and possibly sunday (15th) we need to gauge interest in the sunday possibility. people far away wont have to worry bout wakin up early or anything. thinkin we would meet up at Hastings in Killeen around 2pm hang out there for a lil while. then make our way to hooters. eat, drink, ogle the ladies. maybe get kicked out. i invited a guy from the GTO board also, really cool guy and GREAT car. actually...would you guys mind if i went ahead and posted this up in the gto forum to get some goats in on it too? j/w

so, i picked up my formula from a guys shop that i know. spec stage 3 clutch and billet steel flywheel GRIPS!!!! but it turns out he didnt repair the turn signal parts that were broken OR the driverside window motor.:mad: but i took it anyways cuz i missed my baby, and ill just turn it back in to him when i pick up my gto from houston. :thumbsup:
but then, get this. last night was my buddy's bachelor party, and i pull up in front of my friends house and turn the lights off and they both go down and then i hear it...gears grinding. :angry: so i have to turn the lights back on to stop the grinding, pop the hood, turn the lights off, and quickly go in and unplug the headlight motor connection. damn that sucks. so for now it's gonna be my DAY-ly driver, lol. so at the meet, ill be at hastings in the Formula, no problem. but when we start gettin ready to head for hooters, ill run home real quick and pick up the goat.

lol nah the main reason is the lower part of the door where the hinge mounts broke. Insurance said they will have to replace the whole door and they are going to fix some other small scratches and rock chips.

Definetly recommend it! :thumbsup: I know some of the cheat spots for running the wires now. I would have liked to do the whole distributor, but decided to hold off until I can actually get the stroker block going, that way I can go to the full on vented set-up with the '95 and up timing cover and LE1 H/C with LT4 intake and T/B.
Once you see the OEM set-up and compare it to the MSD stuff you will be glad you did!
Sadly, it has taken too damn long to get this going. I have to work saturday morning again (11th time this year, mandatory) and now that I know how to run the passenger side wires, it's raining again. Every corner this last week has kept me from making progress :angry:
While ya'll will be carving corners in hill country I will be putting things in and back on. :eek: Should finish and test out late Saturday.

fixed my headlight motor, and replaced the lights themselves. i think i need to readjust one cuz now when i turn them off, the driver's side gets hung up before goin down fully.

The way the motor works is it stops when it contacts resistance, so maybe it's hitting something...or the gear is still messed up?

its a brand new motor, so the gear is fine, i only just found out about it last night when i was a lil tipsy, so ima check it out this morning and see whats goin on. quick opinion question...should i re-paint the headlight 'trim' black, or paint it white to match the rest of the car?
