ok so i rebuilt my LT1. it ran for about a 100 miles and then the car caught fire. Shop did all the work, so that is being dealt with. But the motor is in good condition still. so my plan is to just replace the wiring harness and get the car running again. I want to spray the motor tho. We bored it .020 over and new pistons of course, a set of felpro race headgaskets, chromemoly rings, 1.6 NSA CC RRs, beehive valve springs, CC503, ported and polished heads, rods resized and crank polished with all the boltons besides a TB, new Waterpump, Oil Pump, Opti. Well my question is, how much spray do you think the motor can handle and what size injectors should i go with and what spray kit is best for the car. I have tunercats and datamaster so tuning wont be much of an issue.

stick some on there and start small! see how high you can go and let me know! hahah just kidding. what compression are you running? mainly thats what makes the biggest differance

It depends on what type of kit you decide to use... With a wet kit, you won't need the bigger injectors. I believe on a stock motor, a 150 shot is the biggest you should go. Keep in mind you need a fuel pump if you go with anything over a 100 shot. I've done a TNT wet kit in the past, and it worked great...

I missed the heads in your original post... Zupercharged28 is right, that's a whole other ballgame... your heads and cam change the equation quite a bit.

im running a nos kit part# 5151 made for the iroc body style. im currantly running 150 shot, all stock and have had no problems at all. my kit will go to 175 but i will put another fuel pump in it! im trying to find a walbro 255 pump, but had no luck finding one!

i plan to get new injectors anyway cause mine kind of melted anway. so that and a new fuel pump. im hoping a 175 shot with a wet-kit will be safe and reliable.

If pull a few degree's of timing out of it, a 150 shot won't hurt a thing. But with a cast crank i wouldn't go crazy with it. There is a guy from here who runs a 250 shot on his vega and runs a 9.XX quarter mile on a cast iron crank. If you have the tunning for it, you can run any size of shot you want.

the problem is, idk where in tucson to get a proper tune. maybe in phoenix i can find somebody. this will also mean new clutch and rear end soon. also another question. should i worry about anything going bad if the car is sitting there? its been sitting for around 3 months. i turned the crank over manually once. anything i should worry about?

Quicksilver........ like i said before 150 wont harm your car! I ran mine two seasons at the drags with no problem at all. One main thing with nitrous is having enough fuel to go along with it, that way it dont detonate! That is what will screw your motor up.

im not worried about the shot anymore. as long as i take the proper precautions im good. its the fact that my motor has been sitting for 4months thats starting to worry me now. and it hasnt even been tuned for that cam yet and for the day it ran, it ran rough.

If you're going to spray it, those are the things you're going to have to worry about. Nitrous has become very safe IF all of the supporting components are operating correctly. A really high percentage of nitrous-related disasters are caused by component failures that are not related to your nitrous kit. Something like a gunked up fuel injector in one cylinder could wind up costing you a motor. If you're going to do it, be sure you've got everything else working correctly first.
