For those of you who use them do you splice it into the temp sensor on the head or the sensor that feeds the pcm? -- these temps tend to vary quite a bit, don't they? at least mine seem to..

I wouldn't touch the PCM sensor...any change in the voltage that comes back to the PCM from the sensor (like the small amount you siphon off to send to your gauge) is going to screw with the readings.

yeah that's what I was thinking .. i dunno if my old gauge was bad or something, but the PCM temp with a scan tool was up to 20* cooler than the gauge reading.

Mine's never been that far off. Gauge or sending unit could have been on the fritz.
If your gauges come w/ their own senders, there are two spots on a block to get the water temp, also the oil pressure. The ones for the water temp are on the left side of the block, and the computer uses the one on the water pump. Then you have the hole behind the intake for the computer oil pressure, and the one near the oil filter. I'm going to be running a BS3 and i'm going through that problem myself, but i'll just run to the other two spots for my elec gauges.
